Join us for our Annual Celebration of World Faiths in the Fuller Dome on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Friday, August 19th, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The theme for the 2022 celebration is the “Transcendentalist Worldview” featuring a presentation by leading educator Cara Lane.
Lane will be sharing her research into the uniquely American history of Transcendentalism. Her engaging presentation will unite the subjects of divinity, nature and humanity through examining the legacies of great Transcendentalist thinkers such as Margaret Fuller, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
“Our Center’s miniature-earth dome was designed and built by Buckminster Fuller who is the great nephew of the famous and inspiring transcendentalist writer Margaret Fuller,” says Center Director, Benjamin Lowder, “We are excited to have Cara Lane share this presentation that follows transcendentalism through American history, illuminating the influence it has had on our contemporary understanding of divinity, nature and humanity.”
This event is free and open to the public. The Fuller Dome is located on the SIUE campus just off of Circle Drive next to Visitor Parking Lot B.
